Located in the historical district of Waxahachie, this project was a full rehab type construction project. New storm drain, water main lines with new services, and all new sewer systems including manholes and services to each resident were amongst the utility portion of the project. We also removed the entire existing roadway, driveways to each of the 46 homes, and reconstructed all of the paving and driveways while maintaining access to every homeowner during all phases of construction. Over 3000 square yards of ADA compliant sidewalks and ramps were built to allow easy accessibility to pedestrian traffic. Our sub-contractor, Mels electric, installed over 3000 linear feet of 2” electrical conduit along with 19 concrete street light bases. Oncor will install the wiring and street light structures at a later date to provide illumination along the roadway and sidewalks of East University. Metroplex Pavement Markings installed all new pedestrian crosswalks and new street signs for this project as well. As in most full rehab projects, we restored the landscaping and irrigation systems to preconstruction condition or better. In most cases the “or better” option was the case. The project will be complete nearly 3 weeks early based on the revised completion date of the contract.
